Spiders Complete Day One at Duke Invitational

Durham, N.C.— The University of Richmond track and field program finished day one of the Duke Invitational Friday,
Kate McAndrew (Denville, N.J.) led the Spiders with an eighth-place finish in the 1,500 when she clocked a 4:29.50. Right behind her in 10th, Madison Trippett (Parkersburg, W.Va.) ran a 4:29.95 and Brooke Fazio (Basking Ridge, N.J.) rounded out Spider finishers with a 4:37.76.
In the long jump, Kayla Woods (Wilmington, Del.) leaped to 13th with an 18-8.75 mark and Morgan Crocker (Richmond, Va.) (16-5.00) and Grace Mittl (Bethlehem, Pa.) (16-4.25) followed.
For the men, Riley Fletcher (East Northport, Va.) ran a 1,500 time of 3:57.73 while the 5,000m featured Peter Borger (Malvern, Pa.) (14:26.10) and Jimmy Quinn (Nutley, N.J.) (14:43.69).
The Spiders are back for day two tomorrow.
