Women Second, Men Sixth at NCAA Pre-Nationals

Charlottesville, Va. - The University of Richmond cross country program wrapped up a successful trip to the NCAA Pre-Nationals hosted by UVA on Saturday as the women finished second and the men placed sixth.
The Spider women took the impressive second place finish in the fifteen team Orange 6K pool with a score of 139, only trailing Kansas State (116). The front runner for the squad, Elizabeth Stockman, claimed the third place finish with a new personal best of 20:53.2. Madison Trippett finished shortly behind Stockman at 20:58.2, notching another top-ten spot for the Spiders at sixth place. Brooke Reif (55th place - 22:05.6) and Laurel Kurtz (56th place - 22:07.0) were the next Spiders to cross the finish line as they completed the course back-to-back. Paige Joyce rounded out the top-five for the Richmond women, finishing at 64th with a mark of 22:11.7.
The Richmond men finished sixth in the eleven team Orange 8K pool with a score of 165. The following runners led the group to success:
The Spiders will travel to Dayton, OH. on October 28 to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships.
