Philadelphia, Pa. - The University of Richmond swimming and diving program fell to Penn on the road in Philadelphia by a score of 185-107 Saturday.Â
The 200 back proved successful for the Spiders as Katelyn Pennell took the first place finish at 2:04.33 and Caroline Weldon followed in second at 2:05.28.
Caitlyn Hughes, Lucy Yeomans, Katelyn Pennell and Melissa Nwakalor came together to take first place in the 400 free relay at 3:33.13.
Caroline Weldon swam a strong 200 back, claiming the second place finish with a mark of 56.28.
Freshman Melissa Nwakalor continues her success in the early stages of her collegiate career as she claimed second place in the 50 free with a time of 24.08.
Megan Carson led the way for the Spiders in the 500 free, finishing third at 5:13.29.
Freshman Erin Budde shined bright for Richmond in the 1000 free, claiming fourth at 10:38.11.
Lola Dragosavac had the top score for the Spiders in the 1 meter diving competition (4th place - 251.85) as Sally Harrington led the group in the 3 meter section (3rd place - 237.68).
Up next, the Spiders will make the short trip to Fairfax to compete in the Patriot Invite hosted by George Mason November 16-18.
