Polin Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. — Spiders freshman Quin Polin has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Polin was honored for his performance at last week's Furman Intercollegiate, where he shot an even-par 213 over 54 holes to tie for 16th in his collegiate debut.

Playing at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C., Polin opened with a 1-under 70, followed it with an even-par 71 in Round 2, and shot a 1-over 72 in the final round, helping the Spiders to a fourth-place finish in the 15-team field. During the event, Polin played the par 4s in even par, tied for fifth best in the field.

Polin is the second Spider to earn A-10 Rookie of the Week honors this season. Teammate Jack LaPiana won the award on September 16 for his 18th-place finish at the season-opening Golfweek Fall Challenge.
