Trusler Runs Away With CAA Special Teams Player of the Week Honors

Trusler averaged 45.2 yards on four punts and executed a key fake punt in the victory. With the game tied late in the first quarter, Trusler ran 21 yards for a first down, keeping a drive alive that would result in a touchdown that gave the Spiders the lead. He also added a 58-yard punt and dropped a pair of kicks inside the 20-yard line. The successful fake punt came as the third on the season for the Spiders.
The Melbourne, Australia native leads the CAA in punts fair caught with 28 and punts pinned inside the 20 with 21. Trusler has helped the Spiders lead the conferencein net punting with 40.0 yards per kick.
Up next, Trusler and the rest of the Spiders travel to Williamsburg on Saturday, Nov. 18 to face rival William & Mary in "The South's Oldest Rivalry," the Capital Cup Presented By C&F Bank. The Spiders will look to improve its playoff chances and earn their eighth win of the season and a share of the CAA title in the game set for 1:00 p.m. at Zable Stadium.
