Spiders Push win Streak to Three Straight with Victory Over JMU

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Men's Tennis team posted a thrilling 5-2 victory over JMU Thursday afternoon at home. With the win, the Spiders push their win streak to three-straight matches and improved to 7-3 overall while the Dukes fell to 5-3 on the young season.
In doubles action, JMU alum William Karpinski and Daniel Kliebhan posted a 7(7)-6(3) victory over Koons/Mahesh (JMU) on court one while Davis Wiley, this week's A-10 Rookie of the Week, and Sebastian Miano recorded a 6-0 victory over Sadek/Sinopoli (JMU) on court three to give the Spiders the doubles point.
In singles action, Kliebhan posted a 6-2, 7(7)-6(1) victory over Sinopoli (JMU), on court two while John Walsh was victorious on court four, defeating Sadek Youssef (JMU), 6-4, 6-4. On court five, Miano defeated Mahesh (JMU) 7(7)-6(4), 7(7)-6(5) while Alex Wernink defeated Edson Sanchez 6-1, 6-3 on court six for the Spider victory.
The Spiders are back in action on Mar. 9 at 1 p.m. at Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. as the home Doubleheader match against Virginia Wesleyan, originally slated for Mar. 4, was postponed. Following the match against Lipscomb, UR will face Belmont on Mar. 10 at 4 p.m.
