Spiders Remain Undefeated at Home with A-10 Wins over Davidson and Dayton

RICHMOND, Va. – After defeating Davidson, 4-1, on Friday and Dayton, 4-0, on Sunday, the University of Richmond Men's Tennis team remained undefeated at home with a 5-0 mark at the Westhampton Tennis Complex and also improved to 13-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
Against Davidson, Daniel Kleibhan and William Karpinski got things going for the Spiders, winning their doubles court one match over Perez/Kacharov, 7-6 (7-4) while Alaister Burke and Sebastian Miano clinched the doubles point for the Spiders with a 6-3 win over Lovrich/Wang on court three.
In singles, Karpinski defeated Clarkm 6-2, 6-3 on court two while Wernink and Mark Taranov clinched the final two points for the Spiders on their court five and six matches, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, and 6-2, 6-1, respectfully.
Against Dayton, again Kliebhan/Karpinski got the first doubles win for the Spiders, 6-2 on court one while John Walsh and Alex Wernink clinched the doubles point for the Spiders with a 7-6 win on court two. Despite three singles matches being left unfinished, Walsh took down Perkowski, 6-3, 6-3 on court three while Miano handled business on court four, defeating Hiryur 6-3, 6-1. Taranov took his court six match over Dunne, 6-0, 6-4 to give the Spiders the final singles point.
The Spiders will look to round out the 2023 season with Delaware on Apr. 19 against Delaware at noon, before the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships in Orlando, Fla. On Apr. 27-30.
