Hassen Hired as Assistant AD for Game Day Experience and Marketing Services

RICHMOND, Va. — Melissa Hassen has joined the Spiders as Richmond's Assistant Athletics Director for Game Day Experience and Marketing Services, the department announced Tuesday. Hassen will oversee all of Richmond's gameday marketing and fan experience efforts, with an emphasis on Spider Football and Spider Men's and Women's Basketball.
Hassen joins Richmond following a 13-year tenure at Loyola University Maryland, where she's served as the Associate Director of Game Day Marketing since 2019. She came to Loyola in 2010 as the program's Assistant Director of Marketing and Sales.
Hassen earned a Master's of Arts degree in Emerging Media from Loyola in 2018 and received her Bachelor's of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing from Radford in 2009. As a student, she worked with Radford's Athletics Marketing department for three years.
Following graduation, she spent a year as an Athletics Marketing Assistant at Tulsa before joining Loyola.
