Women's Track & Field Opens 2024 with Trip to Virginia Tech Invitational

Blacksburg, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field program is set to open up the 2024 year with a trip to Blacksburg where they will compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The group returns to action after a November appearance at the Liberty Kickoff, hosted by Liberty University. In her first Richmond outing, Alicia Dawson took the 1^st place finish in the long jump with a personal best of 5.80m. Dawson also finished 10^th in the 60m, adding another personal best to her day. The 3K was dominated by the Spiders as Madison Trippett claimed 1^st place (9:36.94), Elizabeth Stockman took 2^nd (9:45.24) and Brooke Reif grabbed 5^th place (10:04.33 – personal best). The Richmond 4x400 squad of Elke Van der Westhuizen, Kamyah Wright, Morgan Elliott and Kyra Keurentjes finished in 3rd place at 3:54.6. Another successful event for Richmond was the 1000m as Kyra Keurentjes crossed the finish line at 2:51.21 for 3rdplace and Caroline Donohoe finished at 2:56.09 for 5th place.
