Women's Track & Field Opens 2024 with Trip to Virginia Tech Invitational

Blacksburg, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field program is set to open up the 2024 year with a trip to Blacksburg where they will compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The group returns to action after a November appearance at the Liberty Kickoff, hosted by Liberty University. In her first Richmond outing, Alicia Dawson took the 1st place finish in the long jump with a personal best of 5.80m. Dawson also finished 10th in the 60m, adding another personal best to her day. The 3K was dominated by the Spiders as Madison Trippett claimed 1st place (9:36.94), Elizabeth Stockman took 2nd (9:45.24) and Brooke Reif grabbed 5th place (10:04.33 – personal best). The Richmond 4x400 squad of Elke Van der Westhuizen, Kamyah Wright, Morgan Elliott and Kyra Keurentjes finished in 3rd place at 3:54.6. Another successful event for Richmond was the 1000m as Kyra Keurentjes crossed the finish line at 2:51.21 for 3rdplace and Caroline Donohoe finished at 2:56.09 for 5th place.
