Dawson, Clayton and Stockman Sweep Atlantic 10 Weekly Honors

Richmond, Va. – Alicia Dawson, Blaiklyn Clayton and Elizabeth Stockman strongly represented the Richmond track and field program this weekend, sweeping all three Atlantic 10 weekly awards, announced by the conference Tuesday.
Alicia Dawson has been named this week's Atlantic 10 Field Performer of the Week. Dawson continued her tremendous 2023/2024 campaign at the VMI Invitational this weekend with the 1st place finish in the triple jump with a measurement of 12.48. Having this performance, she now holds the No. 2 all-time mark for the event in Richmond program history. Her 12.48 jump is ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic 10 conference and No. 12 in the ECAC. Dawson now has two Field Performer of the Week conference awards under her belt in just two weeks of competition.
Freshman Blaiklyn Clayton earns her first Atlantic 10 weekly honor as the Rookie of the Week. Clayton found individual success at the VMI Invitational in the 200m where she took the 3rd place finish at 25.20, an ECAC qualifying mark and No. 6 in the all-time program record book. Clayton also played a large role in the 2nd place Richmond 4x400 squad.
Elizabeth Stockman ventured off from the main group as she competed in the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason on Saturday. Here, Stockman claimed the 1st place finish in the 1000m at 2:46.67, earning her the Atlantic 10 Track Performer of the Week award. This mark leads the Atlantic 10 ranks and is the No. 3 all-time finish for the event in Richmond program history.
This is the first week in program history that all three honors were represented by Richmond.
Up next, catch all three of these Spiders back in action on February 2 as they head to Piscataway, NJ to compete in the Scarlet Knight Open hosted by Rutgers. Competition will extend into February 3.
