Baez, Isztwan Sweep Weekly A-10 Awards

RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond has swept the Atlantic 10's weekly men's golf honors, the conference announced Friday. Senior Patrick Isztwan was named A-10's Men's Golfer of the Week for his ninth-place finish at the RedHawk Intercollegiate, and freshman Carson Baez was named A-10 Rookie of the Week for his sixth-place finish at the same event. It is the first career weekly Atlantic 10 award for both Baez and Isztwan.

Baez shot toward the top of the individual leaderboard at the RedHawk Intercollegiate at Pittsburgh Field Club with a 5-under 66 in Round 2, equaling the 14th-best round in program history. He finished the event at 5-under par (208), tied with two other golfers for sixth place.

Isztwan opened with a 3-under 68 in Pittsburgh and followed it up with back-to-back rounds of even-par 71 to finish tied for ninth at 3-under par (210). It was the first top-10 finish of his collegiate career and his second straight top-12 result.

As a team, Richmond placed third in the 16-team field with a score of 9-under (843), its best tournament result this season. The Spiders will return to action this weekend at the 54-hole Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C.
