
Spiders Bounce Back in Round 2 of Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. — After a rare misfire in Round 1 of the Furman Intercollegiate Saturday morning, Richmond responded with a 3-under 281 in Round 2 Saturday afternoon to climb back into the mix at the 54-hole event. The Spiders were led by 2-under 69s from senior Cole Ekert and Carson Baez in Round 2, who combined with sophomore Quin Polin (even-par 71) and junior Drew Carlin (1-over 72) to help UR move up to ninth on the leaderboard after starting Round 2 in 14th place.
Carlin (+3) and Polin (+3) are tied for 34th on the individual leaderboard, just in front of Ekert (tied for 41st at 4-over par) and Baez (tied for 4th at 5-over par). Patrick Isztwan is in 72nd place at 9-over par.
Richmond is tied for Wofford in ninth place at 14-over par (582). The third and final round will begin at 8:20 AM Sunday.
