Baez Earns Second Straight A-10 Rookie of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. — For the second time in as many weeks, Spiders freshman Carson Baez is the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Baez was honored for his 15th-place finish in a strong field at the Furman Intercollegiate on October 19-20.
After opening with a 7-over 78, Baez shot a 2-under 69 in Round 2 and a 6-under 65 in Round 3 to move 30 spots up the individual leaderboard into a tie for 15th at 1-under par (212). His final round matched the fifth-lowest round in program history.
As a team, Richmond rallied to a fourth-place finish, behind only a trio of top-100 nationally-ranked programs: Texas A&M, Furman, and Wake Forest.
2024-25 is the second straight season a Spider has won multiple A-10 Rookie of the Week Awards after Jack LaPiana and Quin Polin were each honored twice last season.
