Palmer-Smith Runs Away With CAA Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Richmond, Va. – Junior running back Zach Palmer-Smith has been named the Coastal Athletic Association Football Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Palmer-Smith continued to lead the Spiders ground attack, picking up a season and career-high 200 yards and his team-leading (third in CAA) seventh touchdown of the year on 25 carries to help Richmond earn its fourth consecutive win with a 20-17 victory over North Carolina A&T Saturday.
Palmer-Smith, along with fellow back Andrew King, helped the Spiders average 8.2 yards a carry and are the first Spider duo to rush for 100 yards or more in a single game since Oct. 10, 2015 when Jacobi Green and Seth Fisher pulled off the feat against Elon. Palmer-Smith has now rushed for over 150 yards in each of the last three games and is the first Spider to do so since 2015 when Green did the same during weeks seven through nine.
His 200 yards are the eighth-best in the FCS this season and his eight-yard touchdown run in the third quarter proved to be the game-winner in the close contest.
