Grant Powers Way to CAA Defensive Player of the Week

Richmond, Va. — Redshirt senior defensive end Jeremiah Grant has been named the Coastal Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week after playing a pivotal role in Richmond's 35-24 win over Towson Saturday.
Grant recorded five tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and two quarterback hurries in the win. The standout, who leads the FCS with 11.5 sacks this season, created turnovers on two of his sacks, paving the way for Richmond scores. Grant also leads the nation in sack yards (95) and sacks per game (1.28) and is now tied with Richmond Athletics Hall of Famer Lawrence Sidbury Jr. for third-most in a single season. His 19.5 career sacks tie him for 10th all-time at UR.
