Men's Golf Adds Cal Transfer Tyler Lee

RICHMOND, Va. — Sophomore Tyler Lee, who last played at California, has transferred to Richmond and will join the Spiders men's golf team this semester, coach Adam Decker announced Thursday.
Lee, who graduated from Delbarton School in Morristown, N.J., was the Metropolitan Golf Association Junior Player of the Year in 2022, one year after his new UR teammate Cole Ekert won the award. He was ranked as the No. 4 recruit in the state of New Jersey after capturing a pair of runner-up finishes at the 2022 Met Junior Championship and the 2022 AJGA Killington Junior Championship.
At Delbarton, he won the 2023 NJSIAA individual title after shooting a 2-under 70. He also led the team to the 2023 Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Championship and was a 2023 NJAC-United first team honoree before enrolling at Cal.
Lee did not make any appearances for the Golden Bears as a freshman in 2023-24 as the team finished runner-up at the Pac-12 Championship. He will join a Spiders team that has finished in the top five in all five of its events this season, a first for the program since 2010-11.
