Football Spring Practice Dates Announced

Richmond, Va. – University of Richmond Football Head Coach Russ Huesman announced a 15-date spring football practice schedule Tuesday.
Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb. 27. Saturday practices rotate times, beginning March 2 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., March 23 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and finally the Spring Game on April 6 beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Spiders will hold two Friday practices on March 1 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and March 29 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Dates and times are subject to change, so fans should stay tuned to RichmondSpiders.com and social media outlets for any possible changes. All practices will be open to the public and fans are encouraged to enjoy practices from the west concourse of the stadium (College Road side).
2023 was another big year for Richmond as the Spiders reached the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2016. Richmond earned a share of the CAA title for the first time since 2015 and advanced to the FCS Playoffs Second Round for the second year in a row. The Spiders were at or near the top of the national rankings in key statistical categories and eight Spiders were named All-CAA while punter Aaron Trusler, offensive lineman Ryan Coll and linebacker Tristan Wheeler earned All-America honors. Richmond regained possession of the Capital Cup with a thrilling 27-26 victory over William & Mary, giving the Spiders a share of the CAA title and Huesman's 100th head coaching victory. After starting the season 3-5, Huesman and the Spiders put up a seven game win streak including a win over No. 22 Rhode Island to end the season with a 9-4 overall record.
The Spiders open the 2024 season on the road at Virginia Saturday, Aug. 31 before opening the home slate at Robins Stadium with a meeting against Wofford Sept. 7 – the first of six home games scheduled for 2024. 2024 season ticket deposits/renewals are available for fans here or by calling the ticket office at 1-877-SPIDER-1.
