Men’s Tennis Moves to 6-1 with win over JMU

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Behind a nail-biting singles win from Dylan Atkinson on singles court five, the University of Richmond men's tennis team picked up a 4-2 win over James Madison Friday afternoon at the Bell Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Va. With the win, the Spiders improved to 6-1 on the young season while the Dukes fell to 1-5.
How it Happened
The Spiders quickly brought the match to 1-0 after UR duo Dylan Atkinson and Sebastian Miano downed Sadek/Sinopoli (JMU), 6-3 and Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley took their match 6-2 over Giersiepen/Sanchez (JMU).
In singles, Daniel Kliebhan gave Richmond a 2-0 lead after winning on singles court No. 1 over Lozano (JMU), 6-4, 6-1. JMU then posted two wins on courts three and two, before Miano put the Spiders back on the board with a 6-4, 7-4 win over Giersiepen (JMU) on court No. 4. Finally, Atkinson handled business on court No. 5, taking Sinopoli (JMU) to three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
