Spiders Conclude Regular Season with win over Fordham Sunday Morning at Home

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team completed an undefeated weekend on Sunday with a 4-0 rout over Fordham at the Westhampton Tennis Courts in the regular season finale. Following the win, and the Atlantic 10 Conference victory over George Mason on Friday, the Spiders concluded the 2024 campaign with a 13-7 record and a 6-1 mark in A-10 action.

How it Happened
The Spider again cruised through doubles play as Richmond duo Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley downed Kanazirev/Virdee-Oakley (FOR) 6-2 on court one and Dylan Atkinson and Nick Roddy handled business on court three, picking up a 6-2 win over Chen/Stojanovic (FOR) to give UR the 1-0 advantage. Seniors Daniel Kliebhan and Sebastian Miano, in their final match at home, led Soemarno/Mascone 5-3 on court two, but the match was left unfinished.

In singles action, Kliebhan cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Kanazirev (FOR) on court one to put Richmond up 2-0, and Wiley defeated Virdee-Oakley (FOR) 6-1, 6-3 on court three. Miano posted the final singles win for the Spiders as he picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Mascone (FOR) for the 4-0 Richmond victory. Paxton Pritchard, Atkinson and Brashear led their respective matches, but were left unfinished.
