Van der Westhuizen Named A-10 Track Performer of the Week

Richmond, Va. – Elke Van der Westhuizen has been named this week's Atlantic 10 Track Performer of the Week announced by the conference Tuesday.
Van der Westhuizen earns this honor after her impressive performance at the historic Virginia Challenge as the University of Virginia hosted many of the top programs within the country April 19-20. The junior from Paarl, South Africa found great success in the 200m, taking the 7th place finish with a personal best of 24.02. This mark currently stands at No. 1 in the Atlantic 10 as Van der Westhuizen and her Spiders approach the end of the regular season.
Up next, Van der Westhuizen will take the next week to prep for the Atlantic 10 Championships scheduled May 4-5. A small group of Spiders will hit the road for Philadelphia, Pa. April 25-27 prior to the conference tournament.
