Spiders End Outdoor Postseason with Second Place Finish at ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Fairfax, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track & field program ended its weekend at the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships with the second-place team finish. Alicia Dawson was named the Female Performer of the Meet with a pair of first place finishes in the long jump and triple jump. Stuart Terrill ended his outdoor season as the IC4A 10K champion, representing the Spiders on the men's side of action. Fifteen different Spiders earned 1st Team All-East honors throughout the weekend.
Alicia Dawson was named the ECAC Female Performer of the Meet after posting a pair of 1st place finishes in the long jump and triple jump. Her triple jump of 12.68m now stands as the new program record and a personal best for the graduate student. Dawson jumped 6.16m in the long jump, another personal best. She earned 1st Team All-East honors in both events. Molly Wise was the 2nd place finisher in the long jump behind Dawson with a measurement of 5.97m, also earning 1st Team All-East honors. This is the first time since 2019 that any Spiders have gone 1-2 in any event at the ECAC Championships.
The 4x400 relay squad of Virginia Beringer, Gabrielle Cummings, Caroline Donohoe and Elke Van der Westhuizen took the 1st place finish in the event with a time of 3:43.02. All four members claimed 1st Team All-East honors.
Dylan Miller, Madison Trippett, Elizabeth Stockman and Morgan Lyons joined forces to take the 1st place finish in the 4x800 relay. With their mark of 8:42.18, each Spider earned 1st Team All-East honors in the event.
Caroline Donohoe and Virginia Beringer each earned 1st Team All-East honors in the 800m. Donohoe finished in 2nd place at 2:08.27. Beringer came in 7th place with a mark of 2:10.98.
Laurel Kurtz and Manon Stephen claimed 1st Team All-East honors in the 10K. Kurtz crossed the finish line in 2nd place at 35:50.38. Stephen took 7th place with a time of 36:56.40.
Elke Van der Westhuizen took the 6th place finish in the 400m at 54.74 earning 1st Team All-East honors in the event.
Gabrielle Cummings had a successful outing with the 8th place finish in the 100m dash at 12.17. She has earned 1st Team All-East honors with the performance. Her preliminary mark of 12.06 now stands as her personal best.
The Richmond women ended their weekend with 72 points and the 2nd place team finish behind Navy who tallied 83.75 points. "This is a special group of young women. They have repeatedly risen to the occasion in the toughest of competitions. Coming back after a hard-fought 2nd place finish in the Atlantic 10 Championships last weekend to deliver another stellar performance and finish 2nd today in the ECAC Championship is remarkable. This team has pulled together and has gotten closer throughout the year and they now compete for each other. A key success we've had has been the leadership of our seniors. It's exciting to see this growth as a team and program", Head women's coach, Lori Taylor.

His personal time of 29:26.63 now stands as his personal best and the new George Mason Stadium facility record. Terrill's teammate Jordan Bendura followed soon after in 5th place at 29:58.56, another Spider personal best. Both men earned 1st Team All-East honors with their 10K performances.
Eric Scully earned 1st Team All-East honors in the 1500m with the 4th place finish of 3:51.18. This is a personal best for the freshman.

"After a great finish in the 2024 IC4A Indoor Championships, we are so excited for our men, who for the first time since 1985 competed in the IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Four men competed and scored 19 points to place the Spiders in 15th in the team standings. It was a great weekend with Stuart Terrill's win in the 10K and Jordan Bendura also earning All-East honors for his 5th place finish. It is exciting looking ahead with freshman Eric Scully's 4th place finish in the 1500m and sophomore Cooper Groat's finish in the 800m", Head men's coach, Steve Taylor.
