Spiders Round Out First Day of NCAA Track & Field East Preliminary Championships

Lexington, KY. – Elizabeth Stockman, Alicia Dawson and Madison Trippett represented Richmond Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Track & Field East Preliminary Outdoor Championships in Lexington, KY. on the campus of University of Kentucky.

Alicia Dawson competed in the first long jump flight of the day, taking the 32^nd place overall finish with a measurement of 5.88m. Dawson jumped up ten spots in the national rankings where she was placed at No. 42 before Thursday's competition. Dawson will return to action on Saturday as she will compete in the triple jump at 6:00 p.m. She is ranked 35^th in the nation in the event.

Madison Trippett took the 37^th place finish in the 1500m at 4:24.25. Prior to Thursday she was ranked No. 40, moving up three spots in the event.

Elizabeth Stockman, the Atlantic 10 1500m champion finished 45^th in the event on Thursday with a mark of 4:30.48. She will be back for more on Saturday as she is set to compete in the 3K steeplechase at 5:40 p.m.
