Dawson, Keurentjes and Trippett Named to Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team

Richmond, Va. – The Atlantic 10 conference announced its Indoor Track & Field All-Academic team on Friday with three Spiders earning honors.
The Academic All-Conference teams include student-athletes who were selected based on their athletic and academic performance. To be nominated, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through a vote conducted by the conference's Sports Information Directors.
Alicia Dawson, Kyra Keurentjes and Madison Trippett earned All-Academic honors through the 2023-2024 indoor track & field season.
Alicia Dawson made her impact known through the conference as soon as she joined Richmond in the Fall of '23. Through her major success in the classroom, Dawson made waves through competition during the indoor season. The 2x Field Performer of the Week took 2nd place finishes in both the long jump (5.90m) and triple jump (12.18m) at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. She also ran a personal best of 7.69 in the 60m at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships for 8th place. Dawson Claimed 1st place in the long jump with a personal best of 6.13m and 2nd place in the triple jump with a mark of 12.45m at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships, earning All-East honors in both events. She now holds both program indoor records in the long jump and the triple jump.
Kyra Keurentjes had an unforgettable 2023-2024 indoor season finding success in the classroom as well. Keurentjes is Atlantic 10 Champion of the 1000m, crossing the finish line at 2:51.38 in the recent Atlantic 10 Championships. She was also a member of the 1st place 4x800 squad at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships (8:53.60) and the 2nd place DMR group (11:30.39).
Madison Trippett, the 1x Atlantic 10 Track Performer of the Week, not only found success through conference standings, but performed greatly in the classroom as well. Trippett was a member of the 1st place 4x400 group at the Atlantic 10 championships, the silver medalist in the 5K and the silver medalist in the mile.
