Women's Cross Country Picked 2nd in A-10 Preseason Poll

RICHMOND, Va. — The Spiders women's cross-country team is second in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll, the conference announced Wednesday. The men's team was picked 10th in the 15-team conference.

The women received 194 points in the preseason poll voting, with each of the 15 head coaches in the conference representing one vote. The Spiders received one first-place vote, with the other 14 going to Loyola Chicago.

On the men's side, Richmond received 100 points, 10th best among all teams. Loyola Chicago is also the preseason favorite among men's teams, receiving 13 of the 15 first-place votes and 222 total points.

Richmond's women's team finished third at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championships, while the men placed 10th. Loyola Chicago won both the men's and women's championships.

The 2024 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Richmond at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va. on November 2.
