Spiders Push Past Delaware State Saturday Night

True freshman Andrew King jumpstarted the Spiders offense with his first collegiate touchdown after the play was set up by a long reception down the seam by sophomore Landon Ellis.
Ellis, who recorded his first 100-yard receiving game, scored his first touchdown of the season off a 61-yard pass down the middle as part of his seven catches, 131-yard night.
Camden Coleman earned the start at quarterback, going 18-of-33 for 312 yards and the touchdown pass to Ellis.
Zach Palmer-Smith had a big night, running in three touchdowns to improve to a team-leading five on the year. Palmer-Smith is the first player to score three touchdowns in a game since Nick DeGennaro hauled in three on two separate occasions last season.
Brandon Peskin was good from 40 yards out on a field goal in the contest as well.
On the other side of the ball, Matthew Traynor and Carter Glassmyer paced the Spiders with five tackles each, while Wayne Galloway and Matei Fitz each had three including two tackles for loss.
With the win, Richmond closes its non-conference schedule at 2-2 before opening CAA play next week at Elon.
