Richmond, Va. – University of Richmond head football coach Russ Huesman announced two spring transfers to strengthen the Spiders offense with the addition of offensive lineman Mason Imbt from Saint Francis and wide receiver Jaiden Fair from Maryland.
Imbt (pronounced "Imp"), a native of Troy, Pa., arrives to Richmond after three successful seasons at Saint Francis. The 6-3, 312-pound guard will join the Spiders as a redshirt junior with two years of eligibility remaining. Imbt started all 11 games for the Red Flash in 2024, helping block for two rushers who each surpassed 575+ yards as the team finished fourth in the NEC in rushing yards per game and completion percentage. He earned 2024 Preseason All-NEC honors and was named to the Phil Steele Preseason Second Team All-NEC before being named a Third Team All-NEC selection by Phil Steele at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
In the 2023 season, Imbt played as an offensive line/tight end hybrid, appearing in nine games. He scored two one-yard touchdown rushes on direct snaps against Duquesne, added a 15-yard receiving touchdown against Merrimack, and recovered a fumble in the end zone for another touchdown against LIU. Imbt appeared in two games in 2022, earning a redshirt.
Fair, a 5-9, 170-pound wide receiver, joins the Spiders after two seasons at Maryland. A native of Stafford, Va., Fair comes to Richmond as a redshirt sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining. While he did not see game action with the Terrapins, he was an integral part of the scout team and was named the 2023 Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year. Fair has also been recognized as a Big Ten All-Academic selection.
Both players will enroll at Richmond for the spring semester and participate in spring practices as the Spiders prepare for the 2025 season.
