Patriot League Announces All-League Awards, 11 Spiders Honored

Bethlehem, Pa. – In its inaugural season as a member of the Patriot League, the University of Richmond football program earned its first-ever Patriot League postseason honors, with 11 Spiders named to the All-Patriot League teams.
First Team honorees include offensive lineman Phillip Gray III, defensive end Donovan Hoilette, linebacker Peyton Seelmann and strong safety Jordan Allen. Second Team selections include running back Aziz Foster-Powell, wide receiver Isaiah Dawson, offensive lineman Scott Hummel, defensive end Camden Byrd, defensive tackle Matei Fitz, linebacker Carter Glassmyer and nickel Tayshaun Burney.
First Team All-Patriot League
Phillip Gray III | Senior | Offensive Line | Nashville, Tenn.
• Started all 12 games, playing both right tackle and center
• Helped Richmond finish third in the Patriot League in rushing with 1,772 yards (147.7 per game)
• Contributed to a unit that allowed only 14 sacks (1.17 per game), ranking third in the Patriot League and 14th nationally
• Provided protection that enabled quarterback Kyle Wickersham to lead the Patriot League in completion percentage (64.6%)
Donovan Hoilette | Senior | Defensive End | West Palm Beach, Fla.
• Started all 12 games
• Recorded a career-high 48 tackles and 13 tackles for loss (-79 yards)
• Added two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal attempt against Howard (Sept. 27)
• Named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after the Georgetown win, where he totaled 3.5 sacks as part of Richmond's season-high eight sacks—the program's best single-game sack total since Nov. 2, 2024. His 3.5 sacks were the most by any Spider since Jeremiah Grant recorded 3.0 in that same game.
• Forced a strip fumble on his final sack of the day, added a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry, and helped the Spiders rally from behind to earn their 600th program win and second consecutive Patriot League victory
• Led the Spiders with 9.0 sacks (-70 yards), ranking third in the Patriot League and 22nd in FCS
• Helped Richmond rank 10th nationally and second in the Patriot League with 37 team sacks (3.08 per game)
• Key part of a defense that ranked second in the Patriot League in total defense (290.3 yards allowed per game)
• Helped the Spiders finish third in the conference in tackles for loss (6.1 per game)
Peyton Seelmann | Sophomore | Linebacker | Mechanicsville, Va.
• Led the Spiders and finished second in the Patriot League and eighth nationally with 120 total tackles, averaging double-digit tackles per game
• Recorded 52 solo tackles, most on the team
• Added 2.5 sacks (-11 yards), two interceptions (second on the team), five pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery
• Returned an interception 67 yards against No. 25 Lafayette (Nov. 15), setting up a Richmond touchdown
• Tallied a season- and career-high 20 tackles against Bucknell (Oct. 4), surpassing his previous high of 16 set one week earlier at Howard (Sept. 27). His 20 tackles were the most by a Spider since Tyler Dressler matched the mark against Maine in 2019.
• Key contributor to a defense that ranked second in the Patriot League and sixth nationally in total defense (290.3 yards per game)
• Helped the Spiders finish second in the Patriot League in scoring defense (22.7 points allowed per game) and third in interceptions (11)

• Ranked third on the team with a career-high 74 tackles, including 41 solo (second-most on the team)
• Recorded 1.5 tackles for loss and an interception returned 14 yards against North Carolina (Sept. 13), along with four pass breakups
• Made a career-high 14 tackles against Howard (Sept. 27)
• Key member of a pass defense that led the Patriot League and ranked fourth nationally, allowing just 155.3 passing yards per game
• Helped Richmond rank second in the Patriot League in scoring defense (22.7 points per game) and third in interceptions (11)

• Recorded a career-high 108 rushing yards on eight carries, including a career-long 27-yard run at Bucknell (Oct. 4)
Isaiah Dawson | Sophomore | Wide Receiver | Garner, N.C.
• Played in 12 games and started six in his first season seeing game action
• Ranked third in the Patriot League in all-purpose yards (104.5 per game)
• Ranked third in the Patriot League and 21st nationally in kick return yards (543)
• Richmond's second-leading receiver with 42 catches for 575 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 13.69 yards per catch
• Added 11 carries for 136 yards and a rushing touchdown
• Had two receiving touchdowns each against VMI (Sept. 20) and Bucknell (Oct. 4), including a season- and career-long 67-yard score vs. VMI
• Recorded two 100-yard receiving games: a career-high 144 yards and two touchdowns against Bucknell (Oct. 4), and 103 yards on seven catches at No. 25 Lafayette (Nov. 15)
• Returned a 99-yard kickoff for a touchdown in the season-opener at No. 14 Lehigh (Aug. 30)
• Ranked second in the Patriot League and 27th nationally in kickoff return average (23.6)
