Richmond Athletics to Offer Expanded NIL Services Through Partnership with Opendorse
12/05/2025 | General, Compliance, Spider Performance
RICHMOND, Va. — Spider Athletics has announced an enhanced partnership with Opendorse, the industry-leading provider of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) technology, education, and support services. Richmond student-athletes will now have access to the full suite of Opendorse products three years after Spider Athletics first partnered with Opendorse to launch Spiders NIL Marketplace.
Through the terms of the new agreement, Spider student-athletes will have the ability to use best-in-class tools to elevate their personal brands, share and organize content, navigate potential NIL opportunities, and deepen their understanding of Name, Image and Likeness and how it has remade intercollegiate athletics. The additional benefits are part of Richmond Athletics' commitment to providing an unrivaled student-athlete experience for all Spiders.
"It's critical that we give every Spider the opportunity to benefit from the many ways NIL has transformed the college sports landscape," said John P. Hardt, Vice President & Director of Athletics. "Our partnership with Opendorse will help our student-athletes learn how they can best use their Name, Image, and Likeness to enhance their experience at Richmond and prepare themselves for life after intercollegiate athletics."
NIL education materials, including resources on financial planning, tax preparation, contract negotiation, and more, will now be available on demand to all Spider student-athletes. Spiders will continue to have access to the elevated marketplace platform dedicated solely to assisting in the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of NIL agreements. Additional services will ensure that NIL agreements are automatically reported to the NCAA when required and fully compliant with the organization's rules and regulations.
"Richmond has built an environment where student-athletes are encouraged to learn, experiment, and invest in their future," said Blake Lawrence, Opendorse Co-Founder and President, Collegiate Operations. "With this enhanced partnership, we're excited to help deliver the tools and education that will make those efforts even more impactful."
