EUGENE, Ore. — Molly Wise concluded her standout season Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the long jump at Hayward Field.
Competing in the first flight, Wise fouled on all three of her attempts in the semifinal round.
She punched her ticket to Eugene after placing ninth at the NCAA East Regional two weeks ago at the University of North Florida. Wise secured her spot with a jump of 6.18 meters on her first attempt — enough to advance to the NCAA Championships for the first time in her collegiate career.
Earlier this season, Wise set a school record in the long jump with a mark of 6.32 meters, capping an impressive year despite the outcome on the national stage.
