Amare Named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week

WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly swimming and diving awards. Among the honorees was sophomore Lena Amare.

At the William & Mary Quad Meet, Amare led the Spiders with a victory in the 200 IM, touching the wall first in 2:03.87 to earn a NIC B cut. She also led Richmond in the 200 free, finishing sixth in 1:52.69, and paced the Spiders in the 100 fly with a fifth-place finish in 56.48.

Amare's time in the 200 IM ranks sixth in the conference, while her 200 free time ranks 19th.
