Spiders Post Multiple Wins Against Villanova

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's swimming and diving team posted several top-three finishes Friday in a dual meet against Villanova.
Lena Amare led the Spiders with a first-place finish in the 200 frees, touching the wall in 1:53.12. Amare also won the 100 fly with a time of 56.20 and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team that finished in 1:35.11 alongside Hannah Wieczorek, Julia Krichev and Presley Baber.
Presley Baber earned two individual victories, winning the 50 free in 23.83 and the 100 free in 52.09. Krichev followed closely behind Baber in the 50 free, placing second in 24.01, and added a second-place finish in the 100 free at 52.55.
For the first time in her collegiate career, Addie Grainger captured first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 260.85, while Sally Harrington finished second with 245.03.
Gabbie Primiano secured a win in the 200 breast, posting a time of 2:20.06, and Molly Blanchard earned a first finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.62.
In relay action, Richmond's A squad of Amare, Wieczorek, Krichev and Baber edged Villanova by 11 seconds to win the 200 free relay in 1:35.11.
