RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team has been selected third in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Conference Preseason Poll, the league office announced on Thursday. Senior Davis Wiley was named to the 2026 Preseason All-Conference Team, marking Richmond's lone selection on this year's preseason squad.
Defending co-favorites Dayton and VCU shared the top spot in the poll with 94 points each. Dayton earned five first-place votes, while VCU collected four. Richmond checked in third with 75 points, followed closely by Saint Joseph's with 73 and one first-place vote. Fordham placed fifth with 52 points, Davidson sixth with 51, George Mason seventh with 50, Duquesne eighth with 28, Saint Louis ninth with 19 and St. Bonaventure 10th.
Wiley enters his senior season after earning Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honors in 2025. Competing exclusively at No. 1 singles last spring, he posted an 8-9 record and secured conference victories over Fordham, Saint Joseph's and Davidson. In doubles, Wiley went 8-7 at the topflight alongside Cole Brashear, highlighted by wins over Marist, James Madison, Dayton and George Mason.
Wiley helped guide Richmond to a 12-9 overall record last season, securing the program's third straight winning campaign and third consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship semifinal appearance.
The 2026 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team features 13 student-athletes representing seven programs, including three selections from Dayton and two each from Davidson, Fordham, Saint Joseph's and VCU.
