Spiders Finish Day 3 of Atlantic 10 Championships with Three Podium Finishes

HAMPTON, Va. – The University of Richmond swimming and diving team competed in Day 3 of the Atlantic 10 Championships with 11 Spiders advancing to finals and three podium finishes. Richmond currently sits in first place with 399 points.

The Spiders captured one bronze and two silver medals.

In the 400 medley relay, Richmond earned a NIC A cut and captured silver with a time of 3:40.93. Swimming the relay were Hannah Wieczorek (55.05), Presley Baber (1:01.23), Lena Amare (55.09) and Caitlyn Hughes (49.56).

In the 200 free, Hughes captured bronze with a time of 1:49.30. Earlier in the day, Hughes swam a personal-best time of 1:48.92. Erin Budde finished eighth with a time of 1:51.23. In the B finals, Julia Krichev finished 13th with a personal-best time of 1:51.70.

In the 100 breast, Baber captured silver with a time of 1:02.06. In prelims, Baber swam a personal-best time of 1:01.88. Gabbie Primiano finished fifth with a time of 1:02.68.

In the 100 fly, Lena Amare finished sixth with a personal-best time of 54.44. In the B finals, Mia Gregory finished 14th with a time of 55.68.

In the 100 back, Hannah Wieczorek finished fourth with a time of 54.20. Caroline Weldon finished fifth with a time of 54.70.

In the B finals of the 400 IM, Molly Blanchard finished ninth with a time of 4:22.14. Natalie Stuart finished 10th with a time of 4:25.83.
