Amare, Baber, Hughes and Krichev Named A-10 All-Academic Team

RICHMOND, Va – Four Spiders were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, the conference announced Friday. Lena Amare, Presley Baber, Caitlyn Hughes and Julia Krichev were honored.

Individuals were selected based on their academic and athletic achievements, including performances at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship. To be nominated, student-athletes had to be at least sophomores and maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Earlier in the season, all four aided in the team's 3.79 GPA during the fall 2025 semester, earning recognition on the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team.

A biology major, Amare contributed 192 points to help Richmond win the 2026 championship title. She won gold in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay and silver in the 800 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay and 200 individual medley. During the regular season, Amare was named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week.

A psychology major, Baber scored 207 points to help Richmond secure the 2026 championship title. She won gold in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay and 100 freestyle. She also earned silver in the 400 medley relay and 100 breaststroke and bronze in the 50 freestyle.

Hughes, a chemistry major, contributed 183 points toward the 2026 championship title. She won gold in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay, silver in the 800 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay, and bronze in the 200 freestyle.

A biochemistry and molecular biology major, Krichev scored 148 points to help Richmond win the championship title. She scored in multiple individual events and won gold in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay.

Richmond was the only institution to have two or more student-athletes honored as Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team members.
