Richmond Wins Gold in Distance Mixed Relay at A-10 Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Richmond's women's track and field team kicked off Day 1 of the Atlantic 10 Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex. The Spiders' DMR captured gold and Molly Wise earned a podium finish, while four Spiders advanced to Saturday's finals.

The DMR set a new meet record with a time of 11:29.82. Running the relay were Brooke Reif (3:30.19), Gabrielle Cummings (56.37), Caroline Donohoe (2:12.21) and Hallie Muniz (4:51.02). The Spiders captured gold and finished nearly 20 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Wise earned silver in the long jump with a mark of 5.88 meters.

In the 60 meters, Cummings qualified for the final after finishing in 7.68 seconds. Wise (7.78) and Sydney Phillips (8.03) posted personal-best times.

Morgan Elliott qualified for the 500-meter final with a time of 1:16.88. Kayla Buback finished with a personal-best time of 1:17.51.

Donohoe earned the top-seeded time in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:12.48.

Reif qualified for the 1,000 meters with a personal-best time of 2:51.88.

In the 5,000-meter final, Mollie Fenn finished fifth in 16:58.29. Charlotte Hudson placed 13th with a personal-best time of 17:24.55. Addie Cohen finished 16th with a personal-best time of 17:40.06, and Estella Bruneau placed 18th in 17:49.36.
