Huesman Names Adam Tate Director of Football Operations/Recruiting Coordinator

Richmond, Va. – University of Richmond Head Football Coach Russ Huesman announced Adam Tate as the program's Director of Football Operations/Recruiting Coordinator Wednesday.
Tate brings nearly two decades of college football experience to Richmond, including extensive administrative and operational experience at Power Four programs Rutgers, Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio State. In his role with the Spiders, Tate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the football program while coordinating Richmond's recruiting efforts, including team travel, meals, recruiting operations and other administrative and logistical needs of the program.
Tate comes to Richmond from Rutgers, where he served as Director of Football Administration since 2022. In that role, he oversaw daily football administration and operational strategy while managing roster strategy, scholarship allocation and prospect evaluation. He also coordinated team travel, admissions and enrollment processes and official and unofficial recruiting visits.
Prior to his most recent stint at Rutgers, Tate spent nearly four years in the SEC, serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Football Administration and Compliance at Tennessee from 2018-21 after working as Director of Football Compliance at Georgia in 2018. Tate previously served as Assistant Athletic Director for Football Compliance at Rutgers from 2016-18 and Associate Director of Compliance at Ohio State from 2012-16.
Tate began his career in college athletics at Marietta College, where he worked as an assistant football coach and in football operations from 2004-07. He later held positions at Central Michigan as a marketing graduate assistant and compliance associate before joining Ohio State.
Tate earned a bachelor's degree in pre-law with a history major and political science minor from Marietta College in 2004 and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan in 2012. He was also a football student-athlete at Marietta.
