Football season is here, and there are plenty of ways for Spider fans to get involved before the team takes the field and throughout the season. From weekly coaches' insights to home game promotions and exclusive pregame gatherings on the road, here's what fans need to know heading into the 2026 Richmond football season.
2026 HOME SCHEDULE & EVENTS
Richmond will host six games at Robins Stadium this fall, with each home date featuring special promotions, celebrations and fan experiences.
AUG. 29 | BUCKNELL
Home Opener | Red Out Robins
Wear your red as Richmond opens the 2026 season against Bucknell. Spider fans are encouraged to help Red Out Robins and kick off another season of Richmond Football.
SEPT. 19 | GEORGETOWN
Fall Festival | Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day
Fall arrives at Robins Stadium as the Spiders host Georgetown for Fall Festival. Richmond will also recognize members of the University's faculty and staff as part of Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day.
SEPT. 26 | FORDHAM
Family Weekend
Richmond welcomes Spider families back to campus for Family Weekend 2026 presented by Sheehy Lexus of Richmond. The first 2,000 fans will receive a free silicone Spider pint cup.
OCT. 24 | COLGATE
Homecoming
Celebrate the University of Richmond and the newest members of the Richmond Athletics Hall of Fame as the Spiders host Colgate during Homecoming Weekend.
NOV. 14 | LEHIGH
Military Appreciation Day
Richmond will honor local service members and veterans during Military Appreciation Day presented by Chesapeake Bank. The first 3,000 fans will receive a free Spider camo rally towel.
NOV. 21 | WILLIAM & MARY
137th Capital Cup presented by C&F Bank | Senior Day
One of college football's oldest rivalries returns to Robins Stadium as Richmond and William & Mary meet for the 137th playing of the Capital Cup presented by C&F Bank. The regular-season finale will also serve as Senior Day for the Spiders.
BEHIND THE WEB
Richmond football's weekly coach's show, Behind the Web, returns to Bar West this fall.
Join head coach Russ Huesman, player guests and Voice of the Spiders Bob Black every Thursday throughout the season beginning Sept. 3 for a live radio program covering everything Spider Football.
The show runs from noon-1 p.m. at Bar West, located at 5811 Grove Ave. in Richmond.

CONCESSIONS
Fans can find concessions on both the East and West concourses of Robins Stadium, featuring a variety of food and beverage options throughout game day.
New and elevated offerings for the 2026 season include:
Cheese & Pepperoni Calzones
A new addition to the game-day lineup, featuring melted cheese and pepperoni baked into a warm, handheld calzone.
Red 7 “Hot Route” Spicy Burger
Turn up the heat with the Red 7 “Hot Route,” an elevated take on the classic spicy burger packed with bold flavor.
Lil’ Spider Meal Deal
Young Spider fans can enjoy a kid-friendly meal along with a mini football to take home.
Fans can also visit Kona Ice, Chick-fil-A and Crumbl food trucks located on Lessing Plaza.
SPIDER BREWS IS BACK
Spider Brews returns in 2026 with a pair of all-inclusive pregame tailgates featuring all-you-care-to-enjoy sampling from Long Drink, Lone Mutt Hydrating Mocktails, Ardent Craft Ales and other local craft breweries, along with food from World of Beer.
The first Spider Brews event will take place Saturday, Aug. 29 before Richmond's season opener against Bucknell. The event will be held inside Robins Stadium in the end zone tents beginning at 5 p.m., giving fans the opportunity to watch pregame activities from the end zone before the 6 p.m. kickoff.
Spider Brews returns Saturday, Nov. 14 before the Spiders host Lehigh. That event will begin at noon in the Front Forest outside Robins Stadium, giving fans plenty of time to enjoy the tailgate before the 2 p.m. kickoff.
Spider Brews tickets are $15 and can be added to a new ticket purchase or to tickets that have already been purchased.
END ZONE HOSPITALITY
Looking for a different way to experience game day at Robins Stadium? End Zone Hospitality gives fans access to the Brick House end zone tents beginning at 5 p.m. For $20, fans receive access to one of the best views in Robins Stadium, along with food and two drink tickets to enjoy during the game. When purchasing, select RZ1 or RZ2 on the seating map to reserve your spot in the end zone hospitality area.
2026 AWAY PREGAME EVENTS
Spider fans will also have opportunities to gather on the road throughout the 2026 season.
SEPT. 5 | AT HOWARD
Join fellow Spiders in Washington, D.C., and the University of Richmond Black Alumni Network (URBAN) for a lively pregame celebration before Richmond takes on Howard. The event will be held at Urban Garden Brewing.
SEPT. 11 | AT NC STATE
The University of Richmond Alumni Association and Spider Athletic Fund will host a pregame celebration in Raleigh before the Spiders take on NC State. Local alumni, traveling fans and friends are invited to gather at The Local for a full pregame dinner buffet and an opportunity to reconnect with the Spider community before heading to Carter-Finley Stadium.

Additional Spider pregame gatherings are planned throughout the season, including:
Oct. 10 | at Fordham — New York City
Oct. 31 | at Holy Cross — Worcester, Mass.
Nov. 7 | at Villanova — Villanova, Pa.
