09/15/2026 | Men's Golf
PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Parker Moellinger's 1-under 70 was the only Richmond round in red figures Tuesday in the final round of the RedHawk Intercollegiate as the Spiders combined for a 6-over 290 and finished the event in a tie for sixth with Miami (Ohio) at 3-over par (855). The Spiders finished in front of exactly half of the 14-team field but 18 shots behind tournament championship VCU, who outpaced the rest of the field by seven strokes.
Richmond's top individual finisher was senior Quin Polin, who tied for 12th at 2-under par (211), registering his second straight top-20 finish. Polin entered the final round tied for the individual lead before carding a 6-over 77 Tuesday.
Freshman Davis Conaway shot a final-round 75 and tied for 30th at 3-over par (216), while Moellinger and senior Jack LaPiana were among a group of eight golfers who tied for 40th at 5-over par (218).
Graduate student Mason Deal carded an even-par 71 Tuesday, his best round of the event, and tied for 48th at 6-over par (219).
Competing as an individual, junior Tommy Sharps shot a final-round 76 and tied for 64th at 12-over par (225).
The Spiders made just four double bogeys or worse all week, second best of any team in the field, but three of them came Tuesday as Richmond fell from fourth to sixth on the leaderboard.
Richmond will return to action on Sept. 21-22 at the Rod Myers Invitational at Duke University Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
