Bitsko Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

Richmond, Va. – Freshman kicker and Richmond native Kyle Bitsko has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week following his game-winning performance in the Spiders' 24-21 victory over Georgetown Saturday at Robins Stadium.
The honor is Richmond's first Patriot League weekly award of the 2026 season.
Bitsko delivered the deciding points as time expired, connecting on a 49-yard field goal to break a 21-21 tie and give Richmond its second straight Patriot League victory. The kick was the first made field goal of Bitsko's collegiate career and capped a 10-play, 40-yard drive in the final 2:16.
The freshman also converted all three of his extra-point attempts against the Hoyas, finishing the afternoon with six points. His game-winning field goal came after three earlier attempts missed and another was blocked.
Bitsko has appeared in all four games for Richmond this season and has converted 10-of-11 extra-point attempts.
Richmond (3-1, 2-0 Patriot League) returns to Robins Stadium Saturday, Sept. 26, to host Furman at 2 p.m. during Family Weekend Presented by Sheehy Lexus of Richmond.
