Myers Earns NSCAA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond junior midfielder Bret Myers (Richmond,Va./The Collegiate School), a business administration major, has been named to the 2000 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Men's Scholar Athlete Regional Second Team.
Myers appeared in 17 matches this season with 16 starts. He accounted for two goals and four assists for eight total points on the campaign. For his career, Myers has amassed 12 goals and 14 assists for 38 total points.
Myers is the second player in as many years to receive scholar-athlete recognition from the NSCAA. Spider senior back Craig Ziadie (Kingston, Jamaica/Hotchkiss School) was named to the team last year.
Despite being beset by injuries, Richmond notched an 11-7-1 overall record and six of the team's seven losses came by a single goal margin. In addition, the Spiders put together a program-record fifth straight winning season.
