Summertime Fun
June 19, 2001
School's out for summer! At least the school with books, desks, and chairs. Now, think of school, but all you did was play your favorite sport all day. Not only that, but you were being taught by some of the area's top instructors.
Actually the school that is in session right now, isn't school at all, but the annual summer camps at the University of Richmond. If you drive through campus these days you may think that college students get younger looking every year, but actually these are kids learning more about the sports they love.
For the boys there is Coach Ron Atkins baseball camp and Coach John Beilein's basketball camp. For the young ladies there is Bob Foley's basketball camp, Peter Albright's soccer camp, and Coach Ange Bradley's first summer field hockey camp at Richmond. All the coaches enjoy teaching the sport they love to younger athletes to further the sport for years to come.
Summer camps are a great way for youngsters learn drills to help them improve even when camp is not in session. There's no better way to spend your summer days than playing the sport you love with your friends.
Oh to be a kid again!
