Breakfast with the Spiders

Aug. 15, 2001
Here's your chance to usher in the fall sports season with Richmond's head coaches. The new school year's first Spider Sports Breakfast is set for Thursday August 30th from 7:30am until 8:30am at the Jepson Alumni Center.
Meet new women's field hockey coach Ange Bradley, who during her four years as an assistant at Maryland helped guide the Terrapins to three straight ACC titles and the 1999 National Championship.
Say hello to Lori Taylor, Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, who will coach the women's teams, and husband Steve, who will coach the men's teams. The Taylors come to Richmond after ten years at their alma mater, Virginia Tech, where both are in the Hokies Hall of Fame. Their list of credentials as athletes and coaches is long and impressive, including Steve's role as an alternate at the 1992 Olympics.
Spend some time with men's soccer coach Jeff Gettler, who's guided the Spiders to a school-record five straight winning seasons.
Then sit back and listen to the morning's featured speakers - Head Football Coach Jim Reid and Head Women's Soccer Coach Peter Albright. Both earned conference and state Coach of the Year honors in leading their teams to the NCAA playoffs - football for the second time in three years and women's soccer for the first time in the program's short five-year history.
All this for just seven dollars per person - and all by 8:30am! Please make your reservations NOW - there's still time and room! Here's how to attend the Spider Sports Breakfast...
