Athletic Department Announces Staff Realignment

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Following three years of unprecedented academic, competitive, and financial success, University of Richmond Athletic Director Jim Miller has announced three promotions within the athletic department's management team.
"The University of Richmond has a long-standing tradition of academic and athletic success," Miller said. "We have been fortunate during the last three years to have achieved a student-athlete graduation rate that ranks in the top-10 nationally; won nine conference championships; set new records in fund raising and corporate partnerships; won the Atlantic 10 Commissioners' Cup, and earned the most Directors' Cup points in school history. These promotions are designed to recognize the contributions Allen, Mark, and David have made to this success."
The restructuring is described below:
? Allen Fredd has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director/Business. He will continue to manage athletic department business and financial affairs and assumes administrative responsibility for football.
? Mark Sandy has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director/External Operations. He will continue to manage the athletic department's revenue production and public relations efforts. He will assume administrative responsibility for men and women's basketball.
? David Walsh has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director/Internal Operations. He will continue to oversee 16 sports and athletic department facilities. He will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of the athletic department.
