First Flight Centennial Halftime Contest

Jan. 16, 2004
When the Spiders welcomed Dayton to the Robins Center on Jan. 14, they celebrated the First Flight Centennial with a halftime contest that offered its winner two free airline tickets from USAirways.
Twenty-two lucky fans, which picked up a winning game program, had 45 seconds to build a paper airplane that would fly closest to the target at the middle of the floor.
Not only did the winner receive free airline tickets but he became the hero for an entire section as his winning plane earned everyone in section 19 a voucher for a free Chick-fil-a sandwich.
