First-Place Football Beats No. 23 Hofstra 43-37 In Double-Overtime

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Stacy Tutt connected with Arman Shields on a 15-yard pass in the second overtime Saturday to lead Richmond to a 43-37 win over Hofstra.
Tutt had career highs in completions, attempts and yardage, going 32-of-50 in 376 and four touchdowns. Tutt also ran for the Spiders' touchdown in the first overtime.
Both teams struggled with the kicking game. Richmond's Joseph Fore connected on 1-of-3 field goals, having one blocked and missing a 30-yarder as time ran out in regulation. The Pride's Rob Zarrilli had a 31-yard field goal blocked in the second overtime.
The Spiders (4-1, 4-3 Atlantic 10) rallied from a 30-17 deficit with two 4th quarter touchdown passes. Tutt connected with Matt Hale for six yards with 13:20 remaining and Harry Wilson for 29 yards with 1:31 left.
The Pride (2-2, 4-3) had a 24-10 halftime lead sparked by a 60-yard run by Kareem Huggins and a touchdown pass and run by Anton Clarkson.
Shields and Hale each had career games. Shields caught 14 passes for 147 yards, his fourth straight 100-yard game, which had not happened by a Spider since 1969. Hale caught 9 for 112 yards.
Clarkson completed 23-38 for 279 and two touchdowns. Marques Colston caught 5 for 100 yards.
