Adam Goloboski Named Atlantic 10 Co-Defensive Player Of The Week

Nov. 20, 2005
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond junior linebacker Adam Goloboski picked up weekly Atlantic 10 Football honors, officials announced Sunday afternoon. The Hereford, Va., native was named a conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, after helping the Spiders to a 41-7 win against William & Mary, Saturday at UR Stadium and a share of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.
Goloboski was part of a defensive effort which allowed just 107 yards of total offense by the Tribe, which came into the game averaging more than 400 yards per game. The Preseason First Team All-Conference selection recorded a team-high nine stops in the contest and garnered the first interception of his career. The pick, which came in the third quarter, helped halt a William & Mary drive and gave the ball back to the Spiders with a 34-7 lead. Goloboski, now the third of Richmond's three linebackers to win a weekly A-10 defensive award, also led the team in tackles for loss against the Tribe with 1.5 for a total of five yards.
The Spiders (8-3, 7-1 A10) earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division I-AA Championships Sunday for the first time since the 2000 season, and will now face Hampton (11-0) Saturday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium in Hampton, Va. The contest will be aired nationally on ESPNU.
