Spiders Close Gap In A-10 Commissioner's Cup Race

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Richmond, two-time defending Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Cup champion, closed the gap with first-place La Salle to 1.5 points after the winter season in this year's race for the Cup.
On the strength of championships in swimming and field hockey, the Spider women hold an 11-point lead in the women's standings. Rhode Island is second with 42.5 points.
Richmond cruised to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Cup each of the past two seasons after finishing third during its inaugural season in the league, 2001-02.
