Spiders Take The Tribe Down 31-14

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - Eric Ward threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns and running back Tim Hightower threw for a touchdown and ran for another to lead Richmond over William & Mary 31-14 in the 116th meeting of the schools on Saturday.
The Spiders (6-5, 3-5 Atlantic 10) opened up the scoring late in the first quarter on Hightower's 24-yard toss to Arman Shields.
Hightower had a 1-yard run in the second, capping a 12-play, 71-yard drive and making it 14-0.
Ward's second touchdown pass - a 3-yarder to Joe Stewart - came with 10:31 left in the fourth to put the Spiders up 31-0.
The Tribe (3-8, 1-7) had two face-saving touchdowns late in the fourth.
The Spiders' Josh Vaughan gained 108 yards on 15 carries and Shields caught eight passes for 84 yards.
Richmond's defense held Elijah Brooks to just 19 yards on six carries - he finishes the year with 931 yards rushing. The Tribe's Jake Phillips was 9-for-12 in passing for 107 yards and one touchdown.
William & Mary ends its season with its lowest win total since 1982.
