Buy-A-Date Auction Raises $1,185 For Ryan Jobes Scholarship Fund

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond athletic department held a Buy-A-Date auction on Thursday night, raising $1,185 to benefit the Ryan Jobes Scholarship Fund.
Thirty-three student-athletes participated and each team had at least two student-athletes auctioned off. Some student-athletes were auctioned off in pairs, while others went individually. A group date will take place in the near future.
Baseball's Anthony Sandstrom and Benji Marshall received the highest bid at $170, while the highest bid on females went for Christina Campion and Kelly Roche.
The Ryan Jobes Scholarship Fund is named in honor of form University of Richmond track & field athlete Ryan Jobes, who died in a car accident in December.
Field hockey's Emma Bradley and baseball's Brian Alas were the masters of ceremony for the event, which was held in Tyler Hanes Commons.
