Richmond Head Coach Dave Clawson:
"It was a great opening-round win. I'm really proud of how hard we played. I think we played a complete football game.
(On winning the turnover battle): "Any time you create turnovers and put points on the board, it's a huge momentum swing. The big key was winning the turnover battle 4-0."
(About the second-round opponent): "We don't care who we play, we just want to keep playing. Wofford will be a tough football team. Anyone we play at this point, we know they're going to be good."
Richmond Senior TB Tim Hightower:
"We thought we were a more physical team and we wanted to come out and prove it. It was a great all-around effort."
(On EKU trying to force turnovers): "When I was in traffic, I just wanted to keep two hands on the ball. As long as we took care of the ball and played hard, we knew we'd be OK."
Richmond Sophomore QB Eric Ward:
(On EKU's defense): "They have a good secondary, we knew that coming into the game. I was just trying to hit open guys."
Eastern Kentucky Head Coach Danny Hope:
"We played against a heck of a football team. We would have had to hit on all cylinders to beat them. UR did a great job of ball security."
(On EKU's quarterbacks): "Our offensive player of the year (QB Allan Holland) had been banged up the last few games and hasn't taken a snap since last game. He showed a lot of courage going out there. Looking back, I would have liked to put (Josh) Greco in sooner."
Eastern Kentucky DL Chris Coy:
(On Tim Hightower): "(Tim) Hightower was probably the best back we've seen this year since the UK game."
